Fusion 2048 or Cosmic Merge: how the games differ

Fusion 2048 organizes numbers in cells, with sliding, stacking or merging depending on the mode. Cosmic Merge drops planets with physics: matching planets merge on contact, and space in the container limits your run.

We compare game rules and controls. Stated times are mode limits, not average durations. Recommendations are editorial. How we prepare these facts.

A board or a container

In classic 2048 mode, one gesture moves the entire board. Keeping the largest tile in a corner can help organize the rest. In Cosmic Merge, you choose a drop point and planets settle physically: one merge can move others into new matches.

Choose how to interact

If you prefer decisions on a grid, try Fusion 2048. Its other modes include a number tower, neighboring merges and orders. If you prefer placing a drop and watching the result, try Cosmic Merge’s untimed mode. Both game pages explain mobile and desktop controls.

Different goals

Fusion 2048 goals depend on the mode and level. In Cosmic Merge, aim for larger planets without overflowing; the daily challenge adds a limit of 40 drops. Choose the mechanic you enjoy rather than the score total: the scoring scales differ.

Comparable facts from both game pages

Fusion 2048 has four solo modes; Cosmic Merge has two and is also single-player. Both run in a browser with touch controls. Fusion 2048 uses cells; Cosmic Merge uses a physics container and offers a daily sequence of 40 drops. Neither has a multiplayer room for sharing the board.

A mistake you can anticipate

In classic 2048 mode, a swipe that merges two tiles can disrupt other columns: check the whole board. In Cosmic Merge, dropping near a matching planet does not ensure contact if another piece separates them: also check what supports the pile. In both games, consider the space left for the next decision.
